MARC HOLMES

I earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Teaching from Columbia University. After working as a public high school teacher for four years, I enrolled in law school, beginning at Chicago-Kent College of Law before transferring to and graduating from the UW in 1999. After graduation, I worked as a civil litigator in a mid-sized firm in Seattle.  In 2004, I took a position as in-house legal counsel for a large health care provider.

In 2005, my wife and I sold our house. In the process, I gained a full appreciation for the complicated nature of such a transaction and the potential benefit of having legal counsel. At the same time, I was learning that my job as in-house legal counsel was not the best fit for me, as it did not allow me to work closely with clients -- a personally rewarding aspect of the practice of law. Adding two and two together, I launched the Law Office of Craig Blackmon PLLC, a law practice focused on assisting people with the purchase and sale of residential real estate.

Since launching the practice, I have helped dozens of people with a variety of legal issues. I also volunteer with the King County Bar Association Neighborhood Legal Clinic, where I provide free legal consultations to residents of King County. As a means of educating the public while also promoting my practice, I contribute regularly to Rain City Guide, a Seattle-area real estate blog.
